Wonderful! When I was a student, long ago, I cut out pictures like these and glued them to the cupboard door for their beauty. I don't think they were real then, but glass models. When I left that room I had to pay the landlord dearly, for the glue wouldn't come off...

The stereo version doesn't work too well for me.

In the first picture the centre subject has some details that look like the software struggles to keep the form.
It's possible that reducing the intensity of the lighting as with deep space objects could give the software less glare to deal with.
It's only as I'm seeing it from looking at many diatoms and Radiolarians in DF, if you are confident it's reproducing the form and structure accurately all is well and my views should be disregarded.
Maybe just disregard anyway as they are still excellent.
Keep up the great work.

I see what you mean, Phill

Although the images in general are wonderful … that one does seem to have an ‘ambiguous’ region
… I think the structural detail is sufficiently crowded that the software is struggling to distinguish front from back.
… the simpler shapes do not suffer in the same way, so their volumetric form is more easily seen.

It's possible a polariser could help the process.
Would also be very interested to see some of the original images before processing,
Some remaining D.O.F can give a sense of form.
Still hoping 3D makes a comeback sometime, as the original system using LCD glasses was created with a single lens endoscope with an LCD shutter that split the left/right it would work with a microscope objective.
I built the prototype electronics some 25 years ago,Sony ended up with the patent but 4k won the race so far.
Easier to sell resolution to someone standing Infront of a large screen in a showroom maybe.

Hi Phill, hi Michael,
Yes, I know what you mean.
The solution would be the retouching with the sub-stacks.
Best, ADi
