AI-Generated Art from Micro-image

Hey folks, thought you might find this interesting. As you've likely heard, there's a bit of an AI craze right now and one of the most fascinating tools out there is called Midjourney. Midjourney generates images based on a plain text prompt or from one or more reference images. Here's my "seed" image:

Very fascinating, yes. The images remind me though, of the ways the alien sought to disguise it's true form in John Carpenter's 1982 version of The Thing. Derivative yet brittley so, as if all of a sudden the universe had fewer elements on the periodic table.

Cool, but here's a better application...
Using AI to build actual highly accurate 3D models of these plankton.
Maybe I should get off my ass and try that.
Right after I get through my sampling backlog.
