Skeeter Stereo

#1 Post by josmann » Wed Jul 19, 2023 5:10 am

Nikon 4x Plan Apo stack of a skeeter! I used the lens to direct project onto a Sony A7III sensor and took 48 images manually adjusting my helicoid slightly between each.

I used Zerene stack for the first time today - I was a little disappointed that, between Zerene and Helicon, there's no straightforward way to get stereo images like in Picolay. That said, the results are much better and faster. In Zerene, I had it generate both Dmap and Pmax images of the straight stack and the stereo pairs. I used the Pmax results to retouch the Dmaps where parts overlapped and were blurred. A little bit of cleanup and background blurring on the final images, then all brought together in GIMP with a few final adjustments.
