My first attempt at using my camera
I’m new to this wonderful hobby and spent some time getting my camera working right. I’ve got a couple of sets of prepared slides, one of which is from AM Scope. It’s a collection of 25 slides in the cutest little wooden box. I spent a great afternoon looking at the slides and taking photos of them, but as they are prepared slides it was pointless taking a video, so I created a ‘Ken Burns’ style slide show of them and uploaded it to YouTube. I’d appreciate any feedback on how I might improve, but I also hope you enjoy the show.

I would much prefer to see your pictures of something you picked off a plant or an object of your real curiosity. Go for it!

Thanks for replying Don, I know what you mean, and I’ll get around to something more interesting but I had a great time looking through those prepared slides.

MicroPunter,
That is what I did when I first bought a AmScope.
I used the USB camera to take a photo of every slide in the AmScope slides.
I even bought some old Sears slides off Ebay and did the same thing.
Having pre-made slides is a good start.

It'd be cool if you posted your youtube link such that one didn't have to click on it, open another tab, and leave the MicrobeHunter site to watch your clip. It's a simple step but worth it for your potential viewers as well as this site itself.
Click the youtube button above the dialog input window, and insert the youtube code for your video. In this case, the first string of letters and numbers behind the question mark; this one: xghKHxrNsPQ . It's simple and generally good manners to keep viewers on the site itself.
