First experience with Vit C crystals

A few days ago I got some pure Vitamin C to experiment with polarized light. It was a beautiful experience, the combination of light patterns and illumination seems endless. I still have not managed the preparation technique, since I don't achieve an even crystallization on the slide. Nevertheless, I was able to complete a very enjoyable observing session and took a few videos. Hope you like them!

My usual equipment is an iPhone 5s mounted on an Amscope b120, with DIY polarization system.

Out of curiosity; How do you get the zooming out effect... Is it an Iphone App or was it done in something else?

I tried a different technique yesterday. I heated the slide and got a rapid crystallization, ending up with quite different crystals shapes. I really like this one.

I add the zooming effect using Davinci Resolve. It is called "Dynamic Zoom" and it is quite easy to use.
