Nassula Ornata

It has been a while since I last made some pond water microscopy. Yesterday I got a very active sample and almost immediately found this beautiful Nassula Ornata. I had to take about 25 short videos to get 30 seconds of steady view, where both the contractile vacuole and the oral basket could be spotted.

My usual equipment is an iPhone 5s mounted on an Amscope b120 / Dark field 10 x and 20 x.

Beautiful. Is that the natural coloring of its 'inside'? I see you use darkfield. But nothing like polarisation or any trick to have the colors stand out so well?

This is just dark field with a home made filter. Colors came out really nice because it was a very colorful specimen. I made a subtle sharpening, contrast and color saturation adjustment on Davinvi Resolve.
