I've been watching this biome for weeks. It's a very dense biofilm with bits of solid material floating through it. The digestion of much of the vegetation by the protists is clear. Now I am seeing an ameba returning. It seems like the range and variety of protists may still develop with time.

Wow! Thanks for the kind words. You know you are feeding a huge ego. I never saw much color in the world of microbes. They are usually translucent.
