Negative and Positive Bias via Post Processing rotation in a Pleurosigma sp.

#1 Post by 75RR » Thu Jan 05, 2017 11:09 pm

Plan 40x/0.65, DIC, 130µm, 9 image stack in Photoshop

Image was taken in Positive Bias diagonally in Landscape mode.
Curiously when the image was rotated clockwise to Portrait format - it appears to be Negative Bias,
when rotated anticlockwise it maintains its Positive Bias.

Very nice! What do you mean by positive and negative bias?

Nice image!
At first, I saw negative bias on the left image, but after scrolling down and up now I see only positive bias on all images.

Thanks kit1980,
At first, I saw negative bias on the left image, but after scrolling down and up now I see only positive bias on all images.
Happens to me on occasion, as it did here when I added the second positive image.
I believe that is the eye, or better said the mind rectifying an "anomaly".

Will remove the landscape positive image, see if that helps.

Pretty cool. I get the same effect when I look at these... for several seconds they look like positive and negative, then suddenly they are both positive.

It even works as a cross eye stereo pair! Not the most amazing 3D effect I've ever seen, but still fairly amusing to mind as idle as mine. :)
