Live diatom

Interesting looking live diatom - unfortunately could not stack since it was moving around too much.

Very good , sharp image. DIC?, or some other similar technique? It always takes me back a little, how DIC and it's cousins, can completely remove the glass-like quality of a diatom, yet create a 3-D effect.
