Freshwater Green Algae (or is it a diatom?)

#1 Post by hkv » Tue May 16, 2017 9:11 pm

I found this very thin and delicate algae in a freshwater sample. Stack is only 4 deep and the strands are independent of each other. I think the chloroplasts looks different from other algae I have seen. Any idea what it is? They really are this green and not yellowish as normally found in diatoms.

HKV, I am surprised I haven't commented on this image already. It is really good.
