Shield Bug

I came across this critter walking along the window ledge, I just could not resist photographing the bug.
Its common name is BERT 'Forest Bug'Pentatoma rufipes .

Sure is good to see you 'round, Mo. My Ellerbeckia slides are truly treasured, I hope you know.

I saw these images on the QMC Facebook, was gonna ask if it's a "stink bug"? Being no entomologist, I am vaguely aware there are many "shield bugs", and at least one of them goes by the common name of Stink Bug here in the USA because they really live up to their name if you handle 'em roughly. The olfactory offense they emit is profound, and I have not the least doubt that is has preserved many a shield bug's life. I have long wondered if all shield bugs share that peculiar ability, or what?
