Thanks, BillT! Actually, I no longer have the objectives that were used for that video. I sold just about all my good stuff last June when I thought I was through with the microscopy hobby.billbillt wrote:Hi Bill,

Mr. Porter, I gotta say you have made me feel much better about my hoarder tendency.billporter1456 wrote:Actually, I no longer have the objectives that were used for that video. I sold just about all my good stuff last June when I thought I was through with the microscopy hobby.
Oh -- and wonderful video, as always! I believe you make a significant contribution to the hobby, and I hope your vids remain available for a very long time to come.

Thanks, Kurt. Yep, you don't get much when you sell the stuff and if you think you may use it at some point, just keep it.KurtM wrote:Mr. Porter, I gotta say you have made me feel much better about my hoarder tendency.billporter1456 wrote:Actually, I no longer have the objectives that were used for that video. Interesting video! Fascinating to see how they retract as a group. Makes me wonder how they communicate with each other? Maybe just reacts to motion?

Thanks, hvk! I have read that each cell can contract its stalk individually. It may be that whatever causes one to contract is likely to cause nearby cells to contract. I found a video (not one of mine) that shows pretty clearly that they can contract individually.hkv wrote:Interesting video! Fascinating to see how they retract as a group.
