Aphid in dark-field

This is an aphid photographed using dark-field lighting at 40x total magnification; I used 19 images in the focus stack. Just another beastie to look forward to this Spring; well, if you're a ladybug or an ant that is. And one thing I learned about aphids -- I had no idea that they have dual exhaust! Simply amazing!
As always let me know what you think.

Thanks! That's what stacking is for!

Even live active aphids can be photographed for a stack, since they often stand perfectly still for many minutes.

Hi Pat, great to have you back!
Very nice image too, makes the eye explore for the details therein. Nicely done!
