Aphid in dark-field

This is an aphid photographed using dark-field lighting at 40x total magnification; I used 19 images in the focus stack. Just another beastie to look forward to this Spring; well, if you're a ladybug or an ant that is. And one thing I learned about aphids -- I had no idea that they have dual exhaust! Simply amazing!

As always let me know what you think.

Even live active aphids can be photographed for a stack, since they often stand perfectly still for many minutes.

Very nice image too, makes the eye explore for the details therein. Nicely done! :D
