Thin helicoid grease...

#1 Post by imkap » Fri Aug 19, 2022 5:35 pm

I have found some nice grease products which work very well for most applications on the microscope or other stuff I like fiddling with. I have used plastilube (thick), some Italian brand white lithium (medium) and Losimol (very thick) but can't seem to find a thinner grease. There are some places on the microscope, eg. some parts of the Zeiss turret condenser and a particular camera objective which I think would benefit from using a less thick product, so I'd have a nice feeling when turning it, but still with a lot less resistance...

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks

EDIT: Sorry I missed the forum part... Wanted to post in DIY :?

The Helimax-XP is very good and the tiny pot goes a long way often just a pin-head amount will do a good job.
Here is their blurb on it:

I know, thanks, but I'm not in the US and it isn't listed on the European Amazon. So when shipping and taxes add up the price becomes 40$.

I described the pot as tiny, which was wrong : It is 2 inches diameter and one inch deep
It is very magical stuff.
I suspect there are face-creams that are more expensive, from the counter!
