That article includes "2. Insert the DC coupler", which is what I called a dummy battery power supply.
It replaces the camera's regular LP-E12 rechargeable battery.
There are (non-Canon) LP-E12 dummy batteries with accept USB power,
e.g.:

There may be a comparable dummy for your M50 II (which uses a different battery)

.. which also provides recharging when away from AC power.
