Olympus OM-D mount on a Swift SW380T

#1 Post by misspixels » Sat Jan 21, 2023 4:26 am

Hello. I wish to mount my Olympus OM-D E M1 on my Swift 380T microscope. I have look for adapter on several website but I did not find one compatible. If anyone have a cue on witch adaptor I need, I really appreciated it!
Actually, I have a Swiftcam 5MP, but I need more resolution for my art project and I think that my Olympus can provide me more resolution-happiness 😝 Thank you!

Not to be trite, but if you look a few posts down, you'll see my post and will find the answer with in.

What you'll need is the T adapter and an adapter ring for our micro 4/3rds camera. Probably looking at around $150 total.

Good luck!

But the 380T manual makes it seem so easy!
V. Mounting a camera attachment

Place the eyepiece adapter into the trinocular camera port on the top of the microscope and mount an eyepiece camera (not included) directly on it. If you would like to use a C-mount camera (not included), unscrew the top ring from the eyepiece adapter. You can then use it as a 1X C-mount for the camera.

The parfocality between the eyepieces and the trinocular port has been preset before shipment and should not need adjustment. If necessary, however, you can rotate the parfocal ring in the eyepiece adapter to adjust the adapter height position and resulting parfocality.
The "use it as a 1X C-mount" could mean mount a c-mount-to-MFT thread adapter and the camera, and you are done – but the deciding details were not exactly obvious when I did a quick online search.

FWIW, I have a swift 350T and an OM 1. I have no issues using the AM Scope T mount with the micro 4/3 adapter.

@elaniobro, Sorry for the late reply. I bought finally this adapter (link below), and I ask the guy to make sure I choose the right one. He pointed me for the #M2XM43. It works well with my Olympus! Very happy with it!
