Stacking images for better pictures

#1 Post by p3aul » Wed Jan 20, 2016 8:35 am

I just got my Scope Camera today and I hear a lot about stacking pictures. I was wondering how this was done. Do you need special hardware or software for this? Can it be done with a digital microscope camera like the MU300 from amscope? could someone explain the technique or give me a link?
Thanks,
Paul

It is not the camera but separate software that does it, so you should be fine.
I use Photoshop (which is somewhat rudimentary) because I already had it.
There is also free software such as CombineZP and PICOLAY and some pay ones like Helicon and Zerene.
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8

The AmScope software has this feature, though for some reason they named it "Fusion" instead of stacking. I forget exactly where it is in the menu, but look around, you will find it. Basically, you take several photos at slightly different levels of focus, select "Fusion", then select which photos you want it to work with and it does the rest.
