Hi,
I’m a sixth form student and I’m doing a project on creating a video processing application to use with a microscope. At the moment I am doing research into the type of features that I could include and I thought it would be a good idea to ask people who use microscopes if they had any ideas. Some thoughts I have had so far are to do with changing the colour range of the video so that the features of the image are more distinct and possibly tracking the movement of microorganisms or using shape recognition to count the number of them in the frame. I just wondered if anyone had any experience of processing microscope images and if they found any features that are particularly useful? Or if they had any ideas as to features that they would like to use but haven’t been able to find yet?
Thanks,
Lucy

Re: Microscope Video Processing Application
Hi Lucy,
I just want to wish you luck on your research. I use my regular camera to take videos, so I cannot suggest anything useful for your poject, but I hope others will.

Re: Microscope Video Processing Application
Hi Lucy H,
you might want to post in http://www.photomacrography.net/forum/ as well.
From your description it sounds like a Software/Programming → Video → Microscopy application.
It might well be useful in a Laboratory/Investigation setting.
The photomacrography forum is larger, better chance of some feedback.
