I can see no mention of optics in the description, but I think these adapters include a weak negative lens element [which would make them not ‘simple’ per my original note]

Clearly, a 1.4x teleconversion will change the performance of the Olympus optics, and removing the lens would result in an increase to the projection distance ... so we have a ‘lose-lose’ situation

In response to MichaelG'... I don't agree that we have a 'lose-lose' situation here. Removing the lens is great idea. I experimented with the original OM adapter tube modified for Nikon mount. The increased length (about 10mm) did NOT cause any image quality reduction and was still perfectly par-focal with the eyepieces. I worked with both Nikon full frame and APS sensor DSLR cameras and large 4K monitors. I will order one of these (https://www.dealcorner.com/Olympus-Acce ... adapt1.jpg) and let you know how it works. It is only $70. Original OM adapters are very hard to find and very pricey.

Absolutely fine if it works for you

My understanding and [admittedly limited] experience suggests that Olympus very carefully optimised the projection distance, and that any departure from that ‘Goldilocks Zone’ can only have a negative impact on performance.

Sorry I won’t be able to do any direct comparisons ... I sold my Olympus ‘L’ about 12 months ago.

I received the adapter from Dealcorner.com this morning. The image quality I see on my 4K monitor is great and par-focal with the eyepieces as far as my eyes can detect. It is about 10cm long.It does not have any optics in it (as expected). It mounts firmly to the my BH2 trinocular head and my DSLR camera.
I am very happy it!

I followed up on another thread, but fyi here is a perfect connection using original parts for a Bh-2 to Nikon D3300 and parfocal. Thanks to dealcorner.com for the part and the help. The boss there is actually a photo tube expert....
