C mount cameras

#1 Post by sombre » Thu Apr 09, 2020 11:08 am

I have recently acquired an Olympus SZ trinocular stereo microscope and would like to take photographs through it.
My problem is that the microscope has a permanently attached C-mount and so I am unable to attach a DSLR.
I would therefore like to know if it is possible to take good quality photographs, as posed to video, using a digital microscope camera.
I Would be very grateful for any advice, suggestions, or recommendations regarding camera choice etc that any one can offer.

Many Thanks

.

Do you have a particular DSLR in mind ?

If not, then I would suggest a small change of plan:
... Use a micro 4/3 [or similar] mirrorless camera
It is a ‘marriage made in heaven’
