I ordered the amscope adapter. If I end up with a raspberry pi camera, I'd probably end up with the adapter anyway. This way, I have a chance to get away with what I already have.

Sorry for the relatively poor quality of the images, but they should give a fair idea of what to expect with the Pi HQ camera. With a reducing barlow, it's pretty usable (not shown).
One of these was taken from the EP (200x) and the other with the HQ camera at prime focus.

The subject is the antennae of a male Aedes vexans mosquito, the antennae is broken.
