Sun god? Never seen this before
Hi peeps-From worm farm-I focused past it to show its propellor like structure which I can’t work out is it flagella or more a spinning ameboid type arrangement-any ideas folks

It’s a real mixture isn’t it?-the petals that make it look like a drawing of the sun-a bit diatomish-but has those spines behind it-a sqiirming cytoplasmic middle and that weird propellor-it did seem like it was treading water-always something new to see-that’s why I keep my camera permanently mounted!

lagoonatic I think you’re spot on-boy that page link was dense reading! After a hard day in the garden, past my bedtime and consuming 2 White Russians, not a lot of it went in the ol’noggin-I thought I read in that page it hasn’t been documented in the Southern Hemisphere-but I found one down under!

MichealG good link-amazing photos-it’s definitely these types of organisms that absolutely shine in DIC, and possibly complex oblique like VAC and that gradient/oblique stick. Gonna buy some polarising sheets and start doing some experimenting..
