Unknown organism

#1 Post by apere » Thu Jan 25, 2018 10:15 pm

Hey all I am very new to this not using a lot of fancy techniques or anything yet just an iphone to the microscope lens excited about exploring though. Let me know if there's any other info that would be helpful or any other advice you may have.

Found this in a stagnant freshwater pool not sure if it is an entire organism or just a part of something, wasn't moving at all. Was different than anything else I've found so far. The images are at 100x and 250x magnification.

I agree with hkv. It does appear to be some type of mite; not one that I've ever seen on animals.

It is a water mite. They live in water.
