A close up of a tardigrades claws, with magnification from 40 x to 600 x. I have used differnt dark field filters for this video! Sometimes it is difficult to not feel sorry for this small animals! //KD https://youtu.be/6b99N_-QNz4

Excellent work, thanks for posting. I've yet to find one, someday
Re: A close up of a tardigrades claws!
thanks, KD, for this shared meiofauna encounter. Freshwater collected, or marine sample? I can't be sure, but the initial sequence suggests irritation/panic..compared to latter images.
I know turtles on their backs thrash four limbs with a pattern which get's them right side up...it's a predictable limb thrashing pattern in turtles. I wonder if our water bears have a few predictable limb thrashing patterns...when with no traction, when with traction on a substrate, when 'provoked' as any meiofauna denizen bumping into said water bear, etc. circumstance.
It seems a doable lightmicroscopy research project...Jane Goodall's work...on a microscopy level!
BTW, JD...why do you post: ' I almost feel sorry for them'...regarding your water bears on the slide? again, thanks, Charlie Guevara, finger lakes/US

Re: A close up of a tardigrades claws!
Thank you very much Chris and Charlie for comments! I am blushing ! Charlie i am a microscopy beginner so i can not so much about this microorganism yet, but i hope to learn more! But this little animal i found in moss and since i saw the first tardigrades. All of them was upp and down under the cover-glass! What i mean when i say feel sorry about all of the microorganism it is because, when you have enyojed them and looking at them, i take some paper and wiped them away! //KD

Hello again...consider a nice little glass tray with plants by your microscope...flush the slide contents into this habitat...rather than 'paper wipe/ destruction' of keenly charming specimens. all the best, and again thanks for this encounter 'with a bear'...that you here forum share! charlie guevara
