Any suggestions for isolating aquatic organisms for dark field imaging? When I isolate organisms I usually bring some detritus with it which, due to the high contrast nature of dark field, shows up really badly. This is easy to 'clean' in editing for photos, but is much more difficult or impossible for video. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Clean pond samples for DF imaging
Hi,
you might consiger a two step pipetting: Filter pond water, pipett organism from sample in vessel one, pipett it from there to vessel two.
Professionals sometimes use mouth operated pipettes for very selective pipetting.

You use a high magnification stereo scope to review and isoalte sample organisms, with a pipette (with fine tip).
